delete your account.
you can do it yourself, any time, from the phone or the web. it takes a minute.
how
- sign in the way you usually do. on the phone: settings → delete your account.
- it shows what happens in each bunch you’re in. choose what happens to what you shared, and who looks after a bunch next if that’s you.
- want a copy first? each bunch has a download button there.
- type what it asks for and choose “delete my account.”
can’t sign in any more? write to hello@memberberries.app from the address on the account, or tell us your apple forwarding address if you hid your email, and we’ll do it for you.
what goes
at once: your sign-in, your profile and settings, your hearts and notes, your place in every bunch, and every memory only you could see — drafts and recently deleted ones too — with their photos and recordings. if you signed in with apple, we tell apple to end the link. if we can’t, you can end it yourself in your apple id settings, under sign in with apple.
memories you shared go too, if you choose “take them with me.”
if you’re the only one in a bunch, that bunch goes too, with every memory and file in it.
a photo already open on someone’s screen can keep showing for up to an hour. a file that was still uploading is swept up within two days. we don’t keep backups, so once something is erased, we can’t bring it back.
what stays
memories you shared, if you choose “leave them with the bunch.” they stay signed “someone,” so the family record doesn’t lose its middle. a name, a face or a story in one can still say who kept it.
memories other people kept about you belong to them and the bunch. ask the person who kept one, or an owner, if you want it gone.
reports you sent stay, without your name, so they can be finished. a memory kept for a child-safety report stays preserved until that’s done. if we closed an account for breaking the house rules, we keep its email address so it can’t come back.
if you look after a bunch
if other people are in it, you choose who looks after it next. if you don’t, it goes to the grown-up who’s been there longest. either way, we email them to say so. a child login can’t look after a bunch, so if there’s no grown-up left to hand it to, write to hello@memberberries.app and we’ll sort it out with your family.
if something goes wrong part way, the screen says so. try again and it picks up where it stopped.
